The Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department has had quite the eventful year serving the residents of the village. Alongside our partners ( VMPD/Mamaroneck EMS/DPW), the VMFD has endeavored to provide the highest level of care to those we have sworn to protect.
In 2021, the VMFD responded to more than 1000 calls for service. These calls ranged from simple alarm activations, structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, technical rescues, and of particular note, the effects of the historic flood that caused mayhem to many residents of our village.
Tragically, several residents lost their lives during the above referenced incidents. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of those who were lost.
June and July marked the return of our annual fireman's parade and carnival. It was a tremendous site to see everyone enjoying a return to such a great event. Pizza Frite, rides, laughter, July 4th fireworks. It has always served as the gateway to the Summer in Mamaroneck. We look forward to our planned carnival and parade in 2022 ( stay tuned).
The membership at the VMFD recognize that we are still in the clutches of the pandemic. With so many families being affected by Covid, we recognize it is sometimes hard to see the positive in what we currently have. We will continue to be there for our residents and will continue to respond when called.
There are great things ahead.
The VMFD is grateful to the dedicated group of men and women that make up our ranks. No matter the time of day, weather outside, or challenges presented, our membership is there 24 hours per day and 7 days a week.
On behalf of Chief Vinny Costa, Asst. Chief James Barney, and Asst. Chief Tommy Seimsen, we would like to wish all a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year.
We look forward to seeing everyone on 2022 .
Stay Strong Mamaroneck and Thank You!
