On February 10, 2023, The Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department and Town of Mamaroneck Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported truck fire at Mile Marker 7.6 South Bound.
Conflicting reports had the actual accident in various locations, as New Rochelle Fire was also looking in their jurisdiction.
The truck was located just south of the Chatsworth overpass. 2242 reported an active fire consuming the engine compartment and cab, with extension to the box of the truck.
A coordinated effort between the three departments quickly brought this fire under control so that rush hour traffic was not impacted for too long.
