The Village of Mamaroneck covers an area of some 3 square miles,
and is a unique Community, from the perspective of the Fire Department.
The Village of Mamaroneck includes light industry,
commercial, heavily traveled
highways, and
a very heavily traveled rail cooridor. The combination of all these
components present some special challenges to the Fire Department
and require specialized training.
The Fire Department responds to a wide range of emergency situations
including fires, hazardous materials incidents, various rescues,
industrial/commercial accidents, and vehicle accidents.
The Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department members are thereby guided
by the following principles:

The goal of the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department is to minimize the loss
of life and property and the protection of the environment
resulting from fires, and other disasters.
We will accomplish our mission through fire prevention, education,
fire suppression and other related emergency and
non-emergency activities.
We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models,
and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all of the necessary
resources at our command to provide a product deemed excellent
by our residents.
