Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department Responds to Multiple Fires during the Week of Hanukkah and Christmas

On December 23rd 2019, Members of the VMFD responded to a reported working fire involving a shed or possible other structure that was attached to a house. Upon arrival, arriving units found a too, shed that was fully engulfed with fire and further complicated by electrical supply lines that were still attached. The fire was brought under control by members on scene without little to no extention into the house itself. The VMFD was assisted by mutual aid response agencies from the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department, Harrison FD, Port Chester FD, Mamaroneck EMS, and Village of Mamaroneck PD.

On December 27th, 2019 Members of the VMFD responded to a local residence on a report of a apartment on fire. Upon arrival, members of the VMFD arrived to find heavy smoke emanating from a ground floor apartment. Members made entry to the apartment and encountered a heavy smoke condition inside the residence. After searching the residence, a victim was located and removed to Mamaroneck EMS who transported the victim to a local hospital for further medical attention. VMFD members were able to bring the fire under control without any fire extending to the other apartments in the building. A cat was also removed from the fire scene and received care on scene and was reported to be doing well. The VMFD was assisted by mutual aid response agencies from the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department, Harrison FD, Port Chester FD, Mamaroneck EMS, Larchmont VAC and The Village of Mamaroneck PD.

The Village of Mamaroneck FD prides itself on serving the community and recognizes that those calls for service do not stop during the Holiday season.
